Spencer Laffin Hamilton: Man, 33, killed in Mountain shooting
Spencer Laffin Hamilton Homicide: On Tuesday someone shot and killed Spencer Laffin, 33, in an incident that started outside Satellite Tires on 100 Nebo Rd. while he was working.
Spencer Laffin, a resident of Hamilton, Ontario, went to Delta Secondary School.
Spencer Laffin, 33, was named as the murder victim by Hamilton police during a press conference on Tuesday afternoon. According to Det. Sgt. Sara Beck of the homicide unit, detectives think at least two suspects—a gunman and a getaway driver—were involved in the shooting at Nebo Road and Hempstead Drive. Although the motivation is unknown, police believe the shooting was targeted.
Detective Sergeant Sara Beck told reporters that the attacker shot Laffin after a “brief interaction,” then followed him across the road and shot him several more times. He died of his injuries there, she said. Beck said police do not know what caused the attack.
Events unfolded shortly after 5 p.m. Monday when police received multiple calls for a shooting in the area and responded, finding Laffin dead outside 70 Nebo Rd., across from the tire shop.
