Lauren Tvardzik Obituary: Lauren Alexandra Tvardzik of Stratford, Connecticut, peacefully passed away on Sunday, January 14th, at the age of 33, surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Bridgeport on August 24, 1990, Lauren was the cherished daughter of JoAnn Betts of Shelton and Paul Tvardzik, also of Shelton. Lauren’s spiritual journey included attending services at Holy Transfiguration Church in New Haven, where she was christened. In recent years, she joined the choir at St. Dimitri Orthodox Church in Easton after relocating there.

During her time at Notre Dame Catholic High School in Fairfield, Lauren engaged in sports, participating in tennis, track and field, and softball in a Shelton softball league. She graduated from Notre Dame Catholic High School and went on to earn her bachelor’s degree in history from Sacred Heart University in Fairfield.

Lauren further pursued her passion for helping others by obtaining a master’s degree in Licensed Marriage and Family Therapy from Fairfield University. Known for her exceptional academic achievements, Lauren was particularly dedicated to supporting children.

A Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 21, 2024, from 2-4 p.m. at Holy Transfiguration Russian Orthodox Church, 285 Alden Avenue, New Haven, with a Panakida (prayer service) at 3 p.m. A Requiem Funeral Service is scheduled for Monday, January 22nd, at 10 a.m., followed by interment at St. John’s Cemetery in Stratford.
