Amy Lahoda Obituary: RCMP Corporal Amy Lahoda died by suicide
Amy Lahoda Obituary-Suicide: Royal Canadian Mounted Police Officer (RCMP) Amy Lahoda sadly passed away on Saturday 9th December 2023.
Earlier in the day, Amy had reached out to several people, sharing her distress. Despite the best efforts of members responding to the call and hours of trying to help Amy navigate her intentions, the members were unsuccessful.
Amy passed late this afternoon while members were trying to assist. This is a devastating loss, and my heart hurts for Amy, her loved ones, and all of you who have been affected by today’s events.
We will be supporting Amy’s family, loved ones, and colleagues in the hours and days ahead. Those colleagues who have been closely involved in today’s events are being supported and cared for now.
Amy Lahoda joined the RCMP in 2009 and was posted to Richmond Detachment in E Division after graduating from Depot. She then was posted to Wood Buffalo, Cochrane, and Airdrie detachments before transferring to G Division in 2022. Amy recently returned to K Division joining Two Hills Detachment.
