Rick Sims Obituary: Peabody MA, Man died at age 67

Richard Sims Obituary: Lynn and Peabody, MA communities are mourning the death of Jess Sims’s father Rick Sims who passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, December 13, 2023. Richard J. Sims, Sr died leaving his family and friends devastated, He was 67.

He was the son of the late Frank R. and Angelina M. (Sequeira) Sims and was born in Lynn. He spent the majority of his life in Peabody, having been raised in both Lynn and Peabody. He graduated from Peabody High School and attended Framingham State University for his bachelor’s degree in sociology, and Anna Maria College for his master’s in criminal justice.

After many years of service, Richard retired from the Peabody Police Department as a Sergeant. In addition, he was the owner of Sims Brothers Painting. When his kids were growing up, he enjoyed coaching them and going to their sporting events and activities. He looked forward to family vacations and enjoyed hoops.

He also delighted in getting together with his old Peabody Police Department friends and coworkers.
The individual in question is survived by his siblings, Frank R. Sims and his wife Donna, John H. Sims, Margaret L. (Dolly) Evans and her husband Atlas, Hanford F. Sims and his wife Joanne, and Antone R. Sims; additionally, he is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. Additionally, he is survived by his three children, Jessica Sims, Jillian (Sims) Ricci and her husband Joseph, and his former spouse, Jo Ann (Fabiano) Sims.
