Brian House Obituary: Well-known Kentucky attorney and mediator Brian House has sadly passed away. He was announced dead through a publication made on social media that read “I have learned sad news. Well-liked London lawyer Brian House has died after an illness.” The circumstances surrounding Brian House’s illness have not been made public by the family at the time of this publication. He will be deeply missed by his family and community.

Who was Brian House?

Since 1992 he has served as a dedicated mediator/arbitrator and a strategic mediation consultant and has mediated more than 14,000 claims. His experience as a mediator is varied and includes significant experience in a wide variety of civil matters. His practice is limited to serving as a neutral either as a mediator or arbitrator.

Having concentrated his practice in civil litigation since 1983, he was an experienced trial lawyer. He has tried over 75 cases to verdict in state and federal courts and has argued before the Kentucky Court of Appeals, Kentucky Supreme Court, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit. He was an ordained minister of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ).

He attended the University of Kentucky where he obtained a B.A. in Political Science with high distinction in 1978. He obtained his Juris Doctor (J.D) from the University of Kentucky in 1980 and graduated from the Lexington Theological Seminary with a Master of Arts in 2009. He received his ADR training from Harvard Law School, United States Arbitration and Mediation, National Institute for Mediation and Training, and NASD Dispute Resolution.

His memberships and affiliations include the Association for Conflict Resolution and the Kentucky Bar Association. Brian was an accomplished attorney and mediator, minister, and overall a good guy. He mediated cases for clients and for Copeland & Romines Law Office, personally with great success and professionalism. He was always willing to help a young lawyer and mentor anyone who may need advice.
