Ralph Abell Obituary: Ralph Wayne Abell, 69 of Marion passed away Friday, December 15, 2023, at his daughter’s home in Waverly.

Ralph was born in Morganfield on July 25, 1954, to the late David Christopher and Faye Abell. He was a coal miner and had worked at Island Creek and Ohio #11, a Cave Springs General Baptist Church member in Crittenden County. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by a son Shane Hunt.

Survivors include his wife of 17 years Evonne, 3 daughters Rebecca Seay(Joey) of Sturgis, Leah French(Michael) of Waverly, Kristin Belt(Jared) of Marion, 1 son Matthew Abell (Abigail) of Pinckneyville, 2 brothers Roger Abell(Rita) of Greenwood, IN, Russ Abell(Kim) of Wabash, IN, 12 grandchildren Lauren Wright(Chris), Alyssa Wickham(Matt) all of Princeton, Wade Moore of Louisville, Elizabeth, and Brayden French both of Waverly, Kyzer Abell of Pinckneyville, Madison Hunt of Livingston County, Jacob Hunt(Ashley), Raylee, Shelbi, Tia Belt all of Marion, Laylee Seay of Sturgis, 8 great-grandchildren Karstyn Moore, Thomas and Bailey Wright, Oaklee and Landon Wickham, Shane and Cade Hunt, Macy LaRue.

Funeral services will be on Tuesday, December 19, 2023, at 2:00 PM at Vanover Funeral Home in Clay with Brother Heath Martin officiating. Burial will be in Oddfellows Cemetery.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, December 19, 2023, from 10:00 AM till service time at the funeral home.
