Eva Jane Marks Lalonde Obituary: Lakeland, La, women died at 90

Eva Jane Marks Lalonde Obituary: Eva Jane Lalonde passed away surrounded by her family and friends at Lakeview Manor Nursing Home on Sunday, March 31, 2024. She was 90 years old, a resident of Lakeland, La and a native of Port Barre, La. She was a retired store clerk for Alma Plantation along with her husband, “Black”.

She is survived by her only child, Elizabeth Holloway; two sisters, Elsie Marks Guidry and Rita Marks Arnaud, one granddaughter, Dana Dickinson, and two great grandchildren, Cade Dickinson and Landon Dickinson. Preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Paul “Black” Lalonde; parents Edgar Marks, Sr., and Clemence Marks; two brothers, Joseph Marks and Edgar Marks, Jr.; five sisters, Hilda LeBlanc, Eleanor Bernard, Lillian Dupre, Lelia Faul, and Mildred Chustz.

The visitation will be held on Thursday, April 4, 2024, at Niland’s Funeral Home in New Roads, LA from 8:30 am until 10:30 am. The Mass of Christian burial will follow at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Lakeland, La at 11:00 am. The burial will follow in Chenal Cemetery. The pallbearers will be Cade Dickinson, Landon Dickinson, Brad Guidry, Terry LeJeune, Jeremy Guedry and Danny Hogan. A special thanks to Lakeview Manor Nursing Home and Pointe Coupee Hospice.
