Bruce Kelly Obituary, Michigan Technological University alum died at 85

Bruce Kelly Obituary: Bruce Gordon Kelly, age 85, of Grand Ledge, Michigan, passed away on Friday, November 17, 2023.

He was born in 1938 in White Cloud, MI, the son of Delos and Ethel Kelly.

Bruce earned Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Michigan Technological University. He dedicated 30+ years of his career as an electrical engineer at General Motors, where he made significant contributions, earning two company patents.

Bruce was also an active member of the Detroit section of the American Welding Society.

Bruce was a member of St. Gerard Parish in Lansing. He found joy in his hobbies, including fishing, especially on his beloved Caribou Lake in Canada, boating, woodworking, traveling, and being a fan of classical music. He was known for his generous heart and expert tinkering skills.

Bruce is survived by his wife of 57 years, Jo Ann (Lenneman) Kelly, his son Len (Gina) Kelly, his daughter Amy (Dennis) Johnson, and his cherished 6 grandchildren, as well as several beloved nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Carol Kutey.

A Celebration of Life will be planned for a future date to honor Bruce’s memory.
