Deputy Christina Musil, Illinois: A 35-year-old DeKalb County Sheriff’s Deputy was killed Thursday in a Scott’s Law crash on IL-23.

According to the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office, Deputy Christina Musil was parked on the shoulder of Route 23 south of Perry Road at 10:39 p.m. when a Kenworth truck ran off the road and rear-ended her squad car.

She was taken to Kishwaukee Hospital in DeKalb where she later died.

Musil had dedicated five years to the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office, serving in both the corrections and patrol divisions. Before her time in law enforcement, she spent four years in the Army National Guard as a military police officer. Her service included a deployment to Afghanistan from 2008 to 2009, highlighting her commitment to duty and her country.
