People who knew him referred to him as “Zulq,” and he was an athlete who possessed amazing skill. The following is a summary of his athletic accomplishments, which he accomplished in his extremely short life and which may be considered unparalleled:

  • Holder of 18 individual Centre records.
  • Led the Keilor relay team to win two state relay records and nine state medals, including five gold medals, ranging from under 11 to under 14 years old.
  • Won the state championships in the 100-meter, 200-meter, and 400-meter races, and broke the state record for the 200-meter dash.
  • Achieved a gold medal in the 100-meter hurdles, 200-meter hurdles, 400-meter hurdles, and 200-meter hurdles events at the state and national levels; broke the record for the 200-meter hurdles at both the state and national levels; and led Victoria to a gold medal in the 4×100-meter relay.
  • At the State Combined Event Championship, the under-14 athlete won the gold medal.
