Alexander “Alex” Obituary: Remembering Alex on what would have been his 12th birthday. He is forever 5 because he sadly passed away after being abused by his mother’s boyfriend. Please keep his loved ones in your prayers today.

Alex passed away when he was 5 years old. His mother, who was divorced from his father, got together with a man, who, over time, became physically abusive towards Alex. Shortly after New Year 2018, paramedics were called to their home in Isle of Wight, Virginia, where Alex was found unresponsive.

According to Alex’s mother and her boyfriend, he had been climbing a tree in the backyard when he fell out of the tree. He hit his head when he returned inside, suffered a seizure, and fell unconscious.

However, police noticed discrepancies in their stories. Investigators later uncovered homemade videos indicating possible child abuse in the home, causing the police to take them into custody and charging them with felony child abuse. Eventually more evidence was collected from the home indicated that the two were abusing Alex, including one such incident where Alex was thrown headfirst into a living room wall.

it was determined that this is how he suffered the injuries he was admitted to the hospital for, not for the fall from the tree. Alex remained on life support for six days, but sadly, did not survive. His mother and mother’s boyfriend were charged for involuntary manslaughter and child abuse; the mother received a 20-year sentence, and the boyfriend only got 10 years.

Alex was a sweet, kind-hearted, and smart little boy. He was reportedly able to spell words very well when he was 2. He loved painting pictures and playing in the garden. He is greatly missed by all those who truly cared about him
