Virginia Alexander-Lauber Obituary: Virginia Waltena Alexander-Lauber, age 85, of East Fallowfield, PA, passed peacefully at home in the early morning of December 14, 2023.

Born April 23, 1938, in Philadelphia, PA, Virginia was the firstborn child of Walter James Alexander, Jr. and Virginia Bernice Alexander (nee: Herd). Virginia displayed talents in art, writing, and singing from childhood, and was a very skilled seamstress. She was a lifelong knitter, crocheter, and crafter, and loved giving handmade gifts to friends and family and making hats and scarves for charity. She worked as a nurse caring for senior citizens for several years, before becoming a bank teller; and retired from Navy Federal Credit Union in Bethesda, MD. She also worked as a karaoke host in the Washington, DC area; and remained an avid karaoke singer after moving to Dover, DE after retirement – a passion she enjoyed right to the end.

Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, stepparents (Ruth Alexander, William Scott), and three husbands (Paul Berner; Albert Murphy, Sr.; and William Lauber, Jr.). She is survived by her fiance, Fredrick Camenzind, Jr. Virginia had fourteen siblings. Preceding her in death were: Beverly Camenzind (Fredrick), James Alexander, Ruth Fleming (Jerry), and Russell Alexander (Kathy). She is survived by: Walter Alexander, III; Paul Alexander (June); Waltena McHenry (Gary); Elizabeth Griffis (Gary);
Kathleen Alexander; Raymond Alexander (Ruth); William Scott (Patricia); Edith Pannacciulli (Robert); June Alexander (Paul); and Marie Eldred (Edward).

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Beverly Berner; and is survived by four children: Emma Yulick (Joseph), Virginia McLarty (John), Theodore Berner (Bonnie), and Carrie Murphy; one stepdaughter: Sally Carr; twelve grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a very large extended family; and countless friends from all walks of life.

Virginia’s love of life, penchant for fun, and generosity of spirit made her loved and respected by all who enjoyed the blessing of her presence. We carry the light of her memory with us forever.

Relatives and friends are invited to gather on Thursday, December 21st, from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm at Givnish of Cinnaminson, 1200 Route 130 North. A service will begin at 1:30 pm, followed by an inurnment in Lakeview Memorial Park, Cinnaminson, NJ.
