Anderson, 81, of Muzzy Drive, who peacefully passed away at St. John the XXIII Home in Hermitage, Pa. Born in Plain Grove, Pa., on April 5, 1942, Marcia was the daughter of the late Paul and Mary Margaret (Hilderbrandt) Saniga.

In a union that spanned more than six decades, Marcia married Mr. Leroy M. Anderson on August 24, 1963, and he survives her at their home. Their enduring love story is a testament to the strength of commitment and partnership that shaped their lives.

Marcia’s roots were deeply embedded in her community, as evidenced by her membership in the former St. Peter Parish in Slippery Rock. However, it was in the field of education that Marcia made an indelible mark. With a passion for literacy and learning, she served as the director of adult literacy in Lawrence County, dedicating over 25 years to this noble cause. Marcia’s influence reached far and wide, touching the lives of countless individuals who benefited from her commitment to education.

Friends and family are invited to pay their respects during the visitation for Marcia S. Anderson, which will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday at the WILLIAM F. & ROGER M. DECARBO FUNERAL HOME, 926 Cunningham Ave., New Castle. This will be an opportunity for those who knew and cherished Marcia to share memories, console one another, and celebrate a life well-lived.

A Mass of Christian burial will take place at 10 a.m. on Thursday at Mary Mother of Hope Church, N. Beaver St., New Castle. This sacred ceremony will offer solace and a chance for the community to come together in remembrance. Following the Mass, Marcia will find her eternal resting place in St. Anthony Cemetery in Harrisville.
