Ken Calvert Obituary: Veteran Detroit radio broadcaster and rock DJ royalty Ken Calvert, passed away on Wednesday, 20 Dec. 2023.
According to his wife of 40 years, Ann Calvert, Calvert, 72, who lived in Oakland County, died Wednesday. He had been dealing with a short-term illness, but his passing was sudden and unexpected, she told the Free Press.
Calvert worked for several radio stations in Detroit for 45 years and was the public address announcer during the Bad Boys era for the Pistons for 16 years.
Calvert was born and raised in Detroit and graduated from Brother Rice High School. He went on to attend Oakland Community College and Aquinas College in Grand Rapids.
