Doris Aikens Obituary: Gainesville bids farewell to one of its beloved residents, Miss Doris “Louise” Aikens, who peacefully passed away at the age of 81 on Sunday, March 3, 2024, in the comfort of her residence.

Friends and family are invited to pay their respects and honor Doris’s life at her funeral service, which will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 5, 2024, at Mt. View Baptist Church, located at 3765 Mountain View Road, Gainesville, GA 30504. The service will be officiated by Reverend Bobby Brown and Reverend Terry Poole. Following the ceremony, Doris will be laid to rest in the serene surroundings of Memorial Park Cemetery. The church will open its doors to receive guests from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Born on January 30, 1943, in Gainesville, Doris was the daughter of the late Jasper and Bannie Winters Aikens. She dedicated many years of her life to serving her community, spending her career as a cashier at Wal-Mart until her retirement. Her commitment to her faith was evident through her membership at Mt. View Baptist Church, where she found solace and fellowship.

Doris was preceded in death by her brothers, Harold L. Aikens, Hubert L. Aikens, Nute M. Aikens, Robert J. Aikens, and her sister, Eula Jeannette Aikens. She leaves behind her brother and sister-in-law, James Curtis and Linda Aikens of Gainesville, as well as numerous nieces and nephews who will cherish her memory dearly.

As we bid farewell to Doris Aikens, let us remember her for the warmth of her spirit and the kindness she shared with all who knew her. Though she may be gone from our sight, her legacy of love and compassion will continue to live on in the hearts of those she touched.
