Bob Boese Obituary: Robert F. Boese, Jr of Plano, TX, passed away on October 26, 2023, from dementia.

Bob was born on July 29, 1939, to Robert and Elizabeth Boese in Galveston, TX. After graduating from Kirwin High School in 1957, Bob went on to study Business at Texas A&M University.

He was a proud member of the Corps of Cadets and was commissioned as a second lieutenant upon graduation in 1961. He served two years as an active-duty member of the U.S. Army and five years in the Reserves. In 1957, Bob met the love of his life, Joyce, and they married in 1961 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Galveston.

Bob worked for 35 years in the insurance industry where he received many accolades and awards. During their 62 years of marriage, Bob and Joyce enjoyed traveling extensively. After retiring from corporate life, and after achieving the pinnacle of his golf game by getting a hole-in-one, Bob found a second career as the Business Manager at Prince of Peace Catholic Church.

He worked there for 15 years under the direction of Fr. Jim Balint and Fr. Tom Cloherty, forming lifetime friendships with these two priests as well as with the pastoral staff, calling this group of people “the greatest staff I have ever worked with.” Bob was predeceased by his parents and his brother John. He is survived by his wife Joyce; his sons Robert (Sonja), David (Niki), and Michael (Kathy); and his daughter Barbara Holden (Ted); 11 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.

Services will take place in the Welcome Center at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 5100 W Plano Pkwy, Plano, TX. The Vigil Service will be held on November 27th at 7 pm, and the funeral will take place on November 28th at 11 am.
