W. Brian Keegan Obituary: NASA’s Chief Engineer passed away
W. Brian Keegan Obituary: William Brian Keegan, a chief engineer at NASA, died of cardiac arrest on March 12, 2024, at Keswick Multi-Care Center in Baltimore at the age of 83.
William Brian Keegan was born in the Irvington neighborhood of West Baltimore to William and Madellyne Keegan. His father worked as an engineer with Westinghouse, while his mother served as an administrative staffer for a surgical practice.
During his youth, Mr. Keegan primarily lived in Parkville. However, there was a brief period when he resided in Biloxi, Mississippi, as his father was employed as an aircraft mechanic for the Navy in the mid-1940s.
In 1958, William graduated from Loyola Blakefield in Towson. He then pursued a degree in physics at Loyola College, now known as Loyola University Maryland, which he completed in 1962.
It was at a church event at a bowling alley where William met his future wife, Charlotte. The couple exchanged vows in 1962 and went on to raise a family of three children in the Catonsville and Ellicott City areas.

He was the beloved husband of the late Charlotte Keegan (nee Maskell) and the devoted father of Stephen Keegan and his wife Linda, Kevin Keegan and his wife Natalie, and Kerry Naunton and her husband Michael.
Friends and acquaintances are invited to pay their respects at the family-owned Ruck Towson Funeral Home, Inc., located at 1050 York Rd. (beltway exit 26), on Sunday, March 17th, from 4 to 7 PM.
A Memorial Mass honoring William’s life will be held at The Basilica of the National Shrine of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary on Monday, March 18th, at 10 AM, followed by inurnment at New Cathedral Cemetery.
