Steven Salter Obituary: Steven William Salter, 65, of Dyersville, Iowa passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, December 13, 2023, in the headquarters of Salty Acres.

Steve was born on December 8, 1958, in Huron, South Dakota, the son of Gordon “Mike” and Shirley (Biever) Salter. In High School, he excelled in all sports and was selected among the top players in South Dakota to play in an international basketball tournament in Italy.

Steve played college football and graduated from South Dakota State University in 1981. He worked at a feedlot until he met his wife Ann Rounds on a blind date.

In 1989, they moved to Dyersville with their three-week-old daughter Ellyse, where he built the Edward Jones business you see today. After over three decades of success, he recently retired and turned the reins over to his youngest son and son-in-law.

President of Dyersville Economic Development, former President of the Lions’ Club, the Chamber of Commerce, the Beckman Booster Club, Dyersville Golf and Country Club, and investor of area businesses, Steve’s impact doesn’t come to an end with his death as he left a legacy for future generations of the Dyersville community.

Visitation will be held from 2:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, December 18, 2023, at Kramer Funeral Home in Dyersville. Visitation will continue at Kramer Funeral Home from 9:00 – 10:00 a.m. before the funeral mass.

The funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, December 19, 2023, at St. Francis Xavier Basilica in Dyersville with burial in the church cemetery. Rev. Chris Podhajsky will officiate with Rev. Dennis Quint concelebrating.
