Paul Wentzell Obituary: Stingray Radio General Sales Manager Paul Wentzell of Fredericton, New Brunswick has sadly passed away on Monday 5th December 2023 at the age of 60.

Starting as a radio newsman for CIHI and CKHJ, Paul began his career in media in 1983. His multi-faceted career began in 1985 with a seamless move into supporting roles. Among his many distinguished positions, he oversaw sales for Bell Media Radio in Fredericton for several years before moving on to Stingray Radio, where he now serves as general sales manager.

Paul made lifelong relationships in both workplaces over his career. Our sympathies are with our coworkers who are grieving with us at this difficult moment. Exceptional community involvement was another area in which Paul excelled beyond his career endeavors. An esteemed member of UCT, he has bestowed the esteemed Member of the Year award three times: in 1996, 2003, and 2019.

He was famous for organizing the UCT poker tournaments, which are currently called after him. In June, Paul was honored with the title of Melvin Jones Fellow for his outstanding volunteer work with the Nashwaaksis Lions Club’s charity radio bingo, which he hosts every Wednesday night.

He joined the York Care Foundation board in 2019 and is now serving as treasurer. Even in the realm of civic engagement, Paul made an impression. He helped organize Fredericton’s Canada Day festivities for almost 30 years as a co-chair of the committee.
