Berkeley Double Stabbing: 23-year-old Byron Decles charged
Berkeley Double Stabbing: 23-year-old Bryon Decles has been charged in the double stabbing Friday. Berkeley police were seen searching for a man who they believe stabbed two people on Friday night close to El Camino Real and Oakridge Steps, which is at the end of Oak Ridge Road.
At 8:06 p.m., the Berkeley Police Department issued an alert asking locals living near Oakridge Road to stay indoors and lock all windows and doors.
At 9:38 p.m., the shelter-in-place order was removed. At around 6:30 p.m., there was a report of a double stabbing, so police were rushed to the scene. Byron Decles, a 23-year-old Caucasian man with blonde hair and a height of 5-foot-8, is the suspect that police are hunting for. When last spotted, he was sporting a big black bag, black jeans, a black hat, and a brown or red hoodie.
Both victims sustained non-life-threatening injuries, Berkeley police spokesperson Officer Jessica Perry said. No further information about the victims was available at this time.
Decles may be carrying cutting equipment, so police warn anyone spotting him to stay away from him and to phone 911 instead.
